Free support is on its way to help parents living in natural disaster-prone areas build up their family’s ability to cope emotionally with stressful events.
Dr Michael Herd from the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program will present three Raising Resilient Children seminars and one Raising Confident, Competent Children seminar over four days in Mackay, Bowen and Collinsville next week to parents of children aged up to 12.
These free evening seminars will be hosted by Northview State School at Mount Pleasant on September 10; Bowen State School on September 11; Collinsville State School on September 12; and Shakespeare Child and Family Centre in Mackay on September 13.
To register visit www.triplep-parenting.net.
The seminars will help parents develop their own emotional resilience and coping skills, so they can in turn be a positive role model to their children in times of difficulty, whether that’s related to a natural disaster or other life events.
