Whitsunday Regional Council will be undertaking renovations of the Bowen Town Square public amenities block to improve accessibility for everyone.
The upgrade of the public amenities block will begin Monday 27 March, and will include new male and female accessible access and fittings, as well as brand new baby change table facilities.
The upgrade works are expected to be completed by the end of April 2017, weather permitting, and during this time the public amenities block will be closed to the public.
Whitsunday Regional Councillor for Division 6, Mike Brunker, said the much-needed improvements will open up access for everyone in Bowen, including residents, staff and visitors.
“These important works will make it easier for everyone to use our public amenities, and brings our facilities up to the highest standard,” he said.
“Bowen offers great beaches and friendly hospitality, now we can also offer inclusive, accessible public amenities for all.”
Public amenities around the Bowen area are scheduled for upgrade, with the Greys Bay amenities block currently under renovations until mid April.
