The closing date for the 2017 Australia Day Awards nominations has been extended to 4pm on Friday, 16th December 2016.
Mayor Andrew Willcox is urging residents to nominate an individual or group for an Australia Day Award and recognise their commitment to the local community.
“I know from being involved in all facets of our community that we have many inspirational people worthy for an Australia Day Award,” Cr Willcox said.
“There are those whose dedication and sense of civic pride makes them stand out above the rest as well as those who excel in their chosen sporting or cultural pursuits,” he said.
“We are fortunate to have people who inspire us and I encourage residents to take the time to nominate someone they know whether it be a neighbour, colleague or friend; entry is free and open to all members and groups.
