Cannonvale Library will host three Family History Workshops following on from the well-attended ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ presentation and workshop by Jennifer Wood.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said the Family History Workshops have been designed to cater for people just starting their journey and also more experienced family historians.
“The beginner’s workshop is for people just starting out tracing their family history while the intermediate workshop will cater for those budding family historians by looking at the various tools and techniques that will allow them to conduct their own family research,” Cr Willcox said.
“The advanced workshop caters for the experienced family historian; to discover the most recent advances in family history research, using webinars, apps and the internet.”
The dates of the workshops are as follows:
Beginner Workshop – Wednesday 21 September 2016
Intermediate Workshop – Wednesday 19 October
Advanced Workshop – Wednesday 9 November 2016
People interested in attending are advised to book early, as places are limited.
All three workshops will be conducted by Jennifer Wood, who was recently invited to travel back to Ireland to deliver a paper on her (Prendergast) family at a Genealogy Conference in Tipperary in May 2017.
