Whitsunday Regional Council has launched Your Say Whitsunday, an online community consultation platform which provides residents with the opportunity to share their thoughts, suggestions and ideas on a range of Council projects, activities and programmes.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said the launch of Your Say Whitsunday allows Council to better interact and engage with residents and incorporate community feedback into the matters that affect the region.
“Council is launching this site with the second round of the draft planning scheme consultation and it’s exciting that we can offer the community an easy user-friendly way to have their say on the future of the region,” Cr Willcox said.
“Council recognises the importance of undertaking meaningful community engagement, and we’re committed to working with local residents, families, businesses and community groups to ensure our decision-making better reflects the needs of our community,” he said.
“With the launch of Your Say Whitsunday, Council now has more avenues to inform, consult and engage our community about our projects, activities and programmes, and I encourage all local residents to visit the Your Say Whitsunday and register to participate.”
Your Say Whitsunday subscribers will be able to utilise a range of engagement tools, including discussion forums, surveys, quick polls, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Question & Answer (Q&A) functions, to participate in community consultation exercises.
Your Say Whitsunday can be accessed at www.yoursay.whitsundayrc.qld.gov.au. Registration is simple and free, and is essential for participation.
