Whitsunday Regional Council will begin its second round of public consultation for the draft planning scheme on the 29th August 2016 with a closing date of 14th October 2016.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said that in the lead up to consultation commencing, an opportunity is available for residents to learn more about the consultation process and how to lodge a submission.
“Council has a range of fact sheets available on the website now and I encourage residents to become familiar with the process and read about the outcomes from the first round of consultation,” Cr Willcox said.
“This second round of consultation is giving our residents a chance to have another say on the future of their region; their feedback is extremely important.”
Fact sheets for Town of Whitsunday, Airlie Beach, Bowen, Proserpine and Collinsville/Scottville are available and will provide information on:
• Outcomes from the first round of public consultation;• The upcoming public consultation;• How to lodge a submission;• What amendments council have made following the first consultation in 2015; and• When the draft planning scheme will be adopted;
