Division 2 will see a major focus on roads and infrastructure in the 2016/2017 Whitsunday Regional Council Budget along with a focus on our recreational areas in Cannonvale.
Councillor for Division 2 Ron Petterson said he was proud that $763,000 has been allocated to commence the construction of Cutuli Road.
“Once completed in the long term, this will provide a significant benefit going forward for Division 2 residents,” Cr Petterson said.
“Emergency Services and Division 2 residents have been calling out for the construction of Cutuli Road for a very long time as it will provide a quicker alternative, connecting Riordanvale Road with Paluma Road,” he said.
“I have also advocated strongly for upgrades at Cannonvale Beach including a new BBQ shelter on the western side, a structure to connect the green areas over the existing drain and re-sanding of Cannonvale Beach.
“This beautiful location is an extremely popular recreation spot amongst our local families and individuals enjoying parties and BBQ’s so it is exciting that we can enhance this area for their enjoyment.”
