Nicole Duguid has been appointed the new Whitsunday Regional Council Chief Operating Officer.
Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor Jenny Whitney said Nicole brings over twenty yearsexperience in local government to the new role and is enthusiastic about getting stuck into the task ahead of her.
“Most recently Nicole was Chief Executive Officer of Regional Development Australia MackayWhitsunday Inc, so she has a wealth of local knowledge and experience dealing with all threelevels of government; local, state and federal from a Whitsundays perspective,” Mayor Whitneysaid.
“Prior to undertaking her role as CEO of the Mackay Whitsunday RDA, she held senior community planning roles for a number of years at both the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay RegionalCouncils.
“Nicole has also previously held positions at the Department of Local Government and Planningand the Local Government Association of Queensland.
“Whitsunday Regional Council is very pleased to have onboard a Chief Operating Officer with such a depth of experience in local government issues across Queensland.
“In the few short weeks Nicole has been with Council she has already started undertaking reviews of Council’s operating and governance procedures.
“As her first course of duties, Nicole will be working on a new Corporate plan for Council.
“Nicole will complement our existing team and we are very pleased to welcome her to Council and look forward to seeing her enhance and focus Council’s operations,” she said.
