The Whitsunday Coast Airport will this afternoon be welcoming an additional evening service Sydney – Whitsunday Coast. Tiger Air flight TT396 will arrive from Sydney at 1750 and return as TT399 departing at 1820.
Mayor Cr Jennifer Whitney has welcomed the increased capacity that demonstrates the continued growth and success of the Whitsunday Coast Airport, for the benefit of our community and the region’s Tourism industry.
“The additional service provides a much needed boost to our schedule offering to coincide with the school holidays and will continue through until the end of September. The Monday evening service provides travellers with choice in having an extended long weekend break or for locals and visitors to connect with International services from Sydney.” Cr Whitney said.
“Once again, I thank Tiger Air for their ongoing commitment to the Whitsunday region.”
Since commencing the direct Sydney services in April of 2014, Tiger Air have carried in excess of 50 000 passengers who have enjoyed the convenience of flying directly to the Whitsunday Coast Airport.
The additional Tiger Air flights between Sydney and the Whitsunday Coast Airport will operate on Monday and be serviced by a 180-seat A320 aircraft in a single class configuration from the 29th of June through to the 28th of September 2015.
The current morning flight schedule on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday remains unchanged.
