There’s no need for kids to be bored this school holidays! Whitsunday Regional Libraries will beconducting a range of activities and ‘how-to’ sessions for children in the Whitsunday region.
Mayor Whitney said the activities range from fishing knots to mug cakes, scrapbooking and 3Dcraft with zombies and upcycling craft using recycled materials; all designed to allow children to be creative and entertained through our local libraries.
“The highlight of the free holiday program is expected to be ‘Cartoon Dave’ Hackett’s visitingCartooning Workshop presentations,” Mayor Whitney said.
“Cartooning sessions for children 8 years and over will be held at the Bowen and CollinsvilleLibraries on Monday 29 June and the Cannonvale and Proserpine Libraries on Tuesday 30 June,”she said.
“Workshop places are limited so early bookings are recommended.”
From spending most of his time as a boy ‘drawing ridiculous cartoons’, Dave has now taught hisNo-Rules Cartooning to over 125,000 kids in schools and libraries across Australia. Cartoon Dave has also appeared on various TV shows throughout the world, including Toasted TV, It’s Academic and the Disney Channel. Dave is also the author of six how-to cartooning books, a novel series “UFO – Unavoidable Family Outing”, as well as several children’s picture books.
