Whitsunday Regional Council today agreed to refund the development application fee of $936 tothe Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex Association for drainage works undertaken at the club.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said the organisation paid the development application fee for theoperational works last year and meets all the criteria for a refund.
“Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex Association undertook the earthworks and drainage works to stop the septic system from flooding which in turns stops raw sewerage getting onto the grounds surface during heavy rainfall events,” she said.
“The Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex Association is a community owned not-for-profitorganisation whose mission is to maintain the Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex facility toallow associated sporting groups to use it.
“The Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex is used by the Whitsunday Junior Rugby LeagueClub and Proserpine Junior Taipans Soccer Club.
“The organisation has met the eligibility criteria and Council is therefore pleased to refund the fulldevelopment fees for the drainage work undertaken at the community facility.”
