Whitsunday Regional Council would like to thank the local community for removing vehicles whichwere being advertised for sale from the side of the road.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said last week Council’s Local Law officers said they would be issuing fines to people who were illegally selling vehicles on the roadside or other public spaces.
“The community has listened to this advice and in the large part removed the vehicles, meaningCouncil has not had to issue any infringement notices,” she said.
“I’d like to thank the local community for doing the right thing and adhering to the roadsideadvertising local laws.
“Council is pleased we were able to give people a chance to remedy their breach of the local laws so no fines needed to be issued,” she said.
These regulations are stipulated In accordance with Council’s Local Law No 1 (Administration)2014.
