Tigerair have announced they are putting on extra flights at the Whitsunday Coast Airport to andfrom Sydney during the school holidays and busy August-September period this year.
Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor Jenny Whitney said the additional flights on Mondays are awelcome boost to the Whitsunday Coast Airport schedule.
“Since Tigerair commenced flying directly to and from Sydney in April last year we have seen the best passenger numbers on record for the airport,” she said.
“I know the Sydney flights have been very popular with holiday makers down south and localslooking for the most direct route to Sydney.
“The extra Monday flights Tigerair has put on during school holidays will give even better accessfor Sydneysiders visiting the Whitsunday region and locals looking for a Sydney break.
“It’s also great to see the Monday flights will be available throughout July, August and September, the traditional very busy period for the Whitsunday region with Race Weeks and Reef Festival,” she said.
The additional Tigerair flights are available on Monday 6th April, 13th April, 20th April, 8th June, 29th June, 6th July, 13th July, 20th July, 27th July, 3rd August, 10th August, 17th August, 24th August, 31st August, 7th September, 14th September, 21st September, 28th September and 5th October.
The existing Tigerair flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will not be affected.Please go to the Tigerair website for flight times and prices.
