Whitsunday Regional Council will be hosting drop off points for the Sea FM, Southern Cross 10
and Salvation Army annual ‘I believe in Christmas Toy Drive’ 2014.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said Christmas trees will be placed in the Proserpine and Cannonvale
libraries for the Whitsunday community to leave toys under for underprivileged children this
Christmas.
“Unfortunately not every family can afford to spread the Christmas joy, which is why Council is
pleased to be able to partner with Sea FM and the Salvation Army to host drop off sites for the toy drive,” she said.
“This is a chance for the Whitsunday community to give back and help out some families that are doing it tough and ensure every child has a gift to open on Christmas Day.
“I encourage the Whitsunday community to get involved and drop off a toy at either the Proserpine or Cannonvale library between November 17th and December 19th ,” she said.
1.5 metre Christmas trees will be placed at both libraries with Sea FM signage. Please ask our
library staff if you’re not sure where to leave the donation.
Drop off locations:
• Proserpine Library, 12 Main Street Proserpine
• Cannonvale Library, Centro Shopping Centre, Shute Harbour Road, Cannonvale
Sea FM does not broadcast as far north as Bowen and Collinsville which is why their libraries are not drop off points for the Sea FM ‘I believe in Christmas Toy Drive’.
