Whitsunday Regional Council today approved the process of calling for an Expressions of Interest(EOI) prior to tendering, for the supply of food and beverages at Whitsunday Coast Airport.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said this is a great chance for food and beverage providers both locally and nationally to submit an EOI explaining how they could provide an outstanding service for theairport.
“Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced commercial operators to tender for the lease of Café Whiskey Charlie at Whitsunday Coast Airport,” she said.
“Café Whiskey Charlie is the main provider of food and beverage offers for the Whitsunday Coast Airport.
“Expressions of Interest are to include company details and previous experience in a commercial food outlet / catering environment within Australia. Only those companies with verifiable qualifications and accreditation and experience should apply.
“It is envisaged that a large number of interested parties will submit to the EOI, due to the recentredevelopment of the airport terminal, proposed Priority Development Area (PDA) for the airportprecinct and the introduction of a new airline partnership (Tiger Air) boosting passenger numbers into the region.
“This is an exciting opportunity for food and beverage operators to provide their services to agrowing airport passenger market, with the 2014-15 financial year expected to be the best onrecord for the Whitsunday Coast Airport.
“We hope to attract interest from experienced food and beverage providers who are interested inworking with Whitsunday Coast Airport to help expand their business even further,” she said.
Council will conduct an EOI prior to completing a tender process. Following the Expression ofInterest, a tender brief would be issued to pre-selected parties.
