Whitsunday Regional Libraries are hosting free creative painting workshops run by local artistWendy Eriksson.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said these workshops are a great opportunity for people who are interested in taking up painting as a hobby but don’t know where to start.
“The workshops will also be good for existing artists who would welcome the opportunity to learnhow to paint in a carefree way and let their creative juices flow,” she said.
“Local artist Wendy Eriksson, and Whitsunday Regional Libraries are seeking 60 people interested in kick starting painting as a hobby, or honing their existing skills to attend one of ten free Creative Painting Workshops.
“The workshops will be held across the region commencing Wednesday 16 July, and culminating with an exhibition of participants achievements at Cannonvale Library from 10-15 December,” she said.
Canvasses, paints etc. will be provided free. Participants just need to bring an apron.Workshops will be held regularly throughout the region on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm and will accommodate a maximum of 6 people.

These workshops are made available thanks to the Regional Arts Development Fund, apartnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the WhitsundayRegional Council to support local arts and culture.
