Residents will have their opportunity to provide feedback on Whitsunday Regional Council’s concept plan for the Cannonvale Beach foreshore this week.
Councillor Ron Petterson and Council staff will be manning a public display this Friday 14 July along the foreshore, and will be able to talk through any ideas or concerns with residents.
The draft plans for the foreshore include an upgrade of the playground facilities, improved seating and extra BBQ facilities, and the installation of exercise equipment along the footpath.
The plan also includes improved footpaths and connections, and more car parking near Cannonvale Beach.
Mayor Andrew Willcox is urging the community to visit the public display stall and view the concept plans this Friday.
“We have a comprehensive concept plan already prepared, and the final step before progressing with the works is to get feedback from the community,” he said.
“We know how much the community loves the park and foreshore area at Cannonvale Beach, and public input into the final design is very important.”
Public consultation will close on Sunday 23 July 2017, after which the design consultants will finalise the concept plans.
