CARAVAN PARKS RE-OPENING

Who is able to stay at the caravan parks?
From midday 1 June 2020 Queenslanders will be able to travel anywhere in Queensland.

Will all the facilities be operational?
Yes, all facilities will be open with social distancing restrictions in place.

Will there be extra restrictions when using the common areas?
From midday 1 June 2020 there will be a maximum of 20 people in the BBQ/communal areas.

The amenity blocks and laundry will be restricted to two persons at any one time. Guests will be requested to use their own toilet/shoer if self-contained.

Will there be sanitising stations around the grounds for me to use or should I supply my own?
At the Wangaratta Caravan Park, guests will be asked to use their own sanitiser. There is also a sanitiser station outside the amenity block. A wash station will also be located within the BBQ/communal area.

At the Proserpine Tourist Park, guests will be asked to use their own sanitiser but there will be sanitiser at the Amenities block and also the camp kitchen.

Will there be designated common areas for those classed as vulnerable? E.g. seniors, compromised immune system or are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
No. We ask those considered vulnerable to take extra care in terms of social distancing and hygiene practices.

Will the swimming pool be open at Wangaratta Caravan Park?
Yes. Social distancing requirements of 1.5m will apply.

A maximum of 20 people will be allowed in the Pool at any given time. This includes swimmers and parents/carers supervising children.

The Proserpine Town Pool is located next to the Proserpine Tourist Park and is open to the public. Restrictions apply e.g. from midday 1 June 2020 - 20 patrons.

If I’m a regular long-term visitor to the park, will I be allowed entry?
From midday 1 June 2020 Queenslanders will be able to travel anywhere in Queensland. Therefore if you live within Queensland you are welcome to stay at the Caravan Park.

From 10 July 2020 further easing of restrictions may apply enabling interstate travel. The Queensland Government is undertaking check points and Council will provide regular updates.

Will the common area facilities be frequently cleaned?
Yes. The facilities are regularly cleaned and there is a strong focus on regularly touched areas such as basins, door handles, railings etc.

Are there restrictions as to how long I can stay at the caravan park?
Standard bookings apply. If you would like to stay for a longer period, please request this at the Caravan Park reception.

How many family members can stay at a site or in cabin?
At the Wangaratta Caravan Park, each site entitles two persons to occupy the said site with $10 applying to each added family member per night.

At the Proserpine Tourist Park, each site entitles two people to stay and any extras will need to see management.

What should I do if I have already made a booking for a holiday?
If you have made a booking and cannot stay at the caravan park due to travel restrictions, please contact the Park to make alternate arrangement e.g. booking for another time or refund.

If you have made a booking, your booking will be honoured, although your booking may be “pushed” back to the appropriate dates set by Stage 2 and Stage 3 requirements. We strongly advise that you contact the Caravan Park and work together to reach a suitable booking.

Will there be increased spacing between sites?
The caravan sites have greater than 1.5m spacing between each site.

Is there contactless check in/out or will I need to still check in face to face with staff at reception?
You will need to check in and sign in (name, address and phone number/email).

At Wangaratta Caravan Park, you will need to check in outside the office, you will be requested to make payment (tap card/enter pin) through the flywire door and then will be given directions to your site by the Caravan Park Manager from at least 1.5m meters away.

At Proserpine Tourist Park, you will need to check in and pay at the office with one person only in the office at a time. Hand sanitiser is supplied in the office.

Do we still have to fill in a declaration form?
Yes, all new arrivals shall be required to fill in the Covid-19 Guest Declaration Form. This will help us to keep a record for future reference if required and to also take steps to keep everyone safe.

Will Happy Hour and park BBQ’s still be able to take place?
Yes, all of our normal activities will still take place with numbers being restricted to comply with the relevant stage two (e.g. 20 people gatherings) or three restrictions. Social distancing shall continue to be practiced.

Can we still have visitors from outside the park?
Yes, visitors are restricted to two per site at any one time. All visitors are required to come to the office and fill in the visitor sign in/out registrar located on a table outside of the office.

So is it business as usual at the park?
No, it is not business as usual. There are restrictions in place and all new arrivals shall be given a document outlining conditions of entry, requirements and safety procedures put in place to help make your stay safe.
