Beautiful Bowen

Bowen is set to become an even more attractive location for domestic and international tourists through $5 million funding from the State Government towards the Whitsunday Regional Council's 'Beautiful Bowen' project.

The third and final stage of the main street works began in mid November and is expected to be completed by mid December, weather permitting. This will be the final stage of the works and Council is looking forward to reopening the revitalised main street to our residents and visitors in December.

During the third and final stage of works there will be a road closure on the western side of Herbert Street between Williams and George Streets, for approximately 4 weeks. Please refer to the map which shows the road closure in red.

Council would like to thank the businesses in Bowen’s CBD for their patience and understanding throughout these works.

Pedestrian access will remain open however please be aware there will be no car parking available along the closed sections of Herbert Street during the works. Signage will be in place to advise motorists.
